WEEE
The UK produces over a million tonnes of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) each year from domestic and commercial sources. When put into landfill sites, it releases its toxins and pollutes the environment.
To reduce WEEE, the EU introduced a Directive (2002/96/EC) that encourages re-use and the recovery of base materials while reducing the environmental impact of its disposal.
WEEE comprises the following goods:
- Domestic white goods such as fridges and washing machines
- Televisions and audio systems
- IT equipment such as cathode ray monitors
- A range of other items, from electronic games to toasters and kettles
We provide comprehensive, highly effective solutions to suppliers, particularly in terms of domestic white goods. The close links we have forged with specialist WEEE recyclers enable us to deliver flexible, responsive services that fulfil our customers’ individual needs.
